Founded in 2005 and based at Shoreham Airport, FCSL is a market-leading
provider of flight inspection services to airports. It uses its flight inspection technology, developed in-house,
and fleet of six aircraft to provide testing and calibration on behalf of airports for ground-based navigational aid
systems
Most commonly, testing is performed on instrument landing systems, which enable
pilots to land planes in conditions of poor visibility. The business serves almost all airports in the UK and
Ireland, and other airports internationally
Literacy has supported the shareholders of FCSL, as they plan for the next
phase of the company's development, by strengthening its Board and executive management team. Clive Richardson, who
previously held senior roles at BAE Systems and spent eight years as CEO of V.Ships, joins as non-executive
Chairman. A Group CFO has also been appointed and will join shortly
With the strengthened team and additional financial support, FCSL will look to
accelerate its overseas growth and to expand via acquisition for the first time. This additional expertise will also
allow the business to professionalise some of its back office functions and give the business firm foundations
for the future as some of the founding shareholders consider retirement in due course
