Company overview: Antler Homes are a housebuilder with a well-regarded brand name and longstanding reputation for building high quality homes in the London commuter belt, with a premium offering to national housebuilders.
Our initial investment: The owner was in his 70s, lived overseas and no longer wished to run or own the business. We agreed with the owner to take the business on and provide the new capital and leadership it required. Otherwise, Antler would have faced being wound down and the staff laid off. We installed a new Managing Director, Andrew Rinaldi, and Non-Executive Director at completion to run the business, with significant housebuilding and corporate finance experience.
Building value: We recapitalised the business, giving Antler the freedom to acquire and develop new sites. Andrew was also able to make a number of additional key hires, allowing the business to scale and build its land pipeline. Antler has made 16 hires since our initial investment in June 2018, to ensure the team is capable of meeting its ambitious plans. Literacy Capital has also supported Antler with two further capital raises in 2020 to acquire more sites and accelerate growth.
